Academic Support Services

The Department of Academic Support Services, associated with the Office of Academic Affairs, is located in Milledgeville. the Director of Academic Support Services provides the Valdosta Campus with evaluation of academic compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act. Students, faculty and staff from any campus may contact the Director of Academic Support Services.

The Valdosta Campus provides the following academic support services to all students.

Tutoring - tutoring schedules are included in the "Academic Services" handout available in the student center, front office, E-Library, and posted on campus bulletin boards during the first week of class each term. Additional tutoring hours and subjects can be arranged by request. Please contact Academic Affairs to make your request at (229)375-5652.

Advising - all students are assigned an academic advisor upon admission to the college. Please contact Academic Affairs or the Admissions Office if you misplaced the contact information for your assigned advisor.

Academic Restart - The Life KEYS Coordinator can assist all students with strategies for success. Please contact Ms. Pat Willis, Life KEYS Coordinator at (229) 269-4839 or pwillis@gmc.cc.ga.us for information.

Life KEYS - all new students are encouraged to take advantage of the Life KEYS program presented in conjuntion with the GMC100 course, Preparing for Success. Life KEYS provides students with tips for improving skills required for academic success. Accommodation Services - students in need of special accomodations should contact the Assistant Academic Dean, Mr. Tarn Burton at (229) 375-5652 or mhopper@gmc.cc.ga.us. Mr. Burton will work in coordination with the Director of Academic Support Services to determine an appropriate accomodation plan.
